Kitchen & Bathroom Fitting in Southampton
Kitchens and bathrooms are the two rooms that sell a house and the two rooms you use hardest. We fit both properly — which means the plumbing, electrics, tiling, flooring and decorating are all part of the same job rather than four separate people blaming each other.
Kitchen fitting
We fit kitchens supplied by you from any retailer, or we can source units and worktops for you. Either way the work is the same: strip out, first-fix plumbing and electrics, any wall alterations, floor preparation, units, worktops, appliances, splashbacks, tiling, second fix and decoration.
Most kitchen problems are set at the planning stage, not the fitting stage — a run of units that leaves nowhere to stand, a hob under a window, a fridge that blocks a doorway when it opens. We will walk the layout with you before anything is ordered.
A free site visit costs you nothing and usually answers most of the questions on this page.
Bathroom fitting
Bathrooms are unforgiving. Falls to the waste, tanking behind the tiles, correctly rated extraction, and electrics zoned properly all have to be right, because what goes wrong in a bathroom goes wrong slowly and expensively.
We fit full bathrooms, en-suites, shower rooms and downstairs cloakrooms, including wet rooms where the floor structure allows the necessary build-up.
- Full strip-out and disposal of the old kitchen or bathroom
- Plumbing alterations — moving waste and supply, replacing radiators and towel rails
- Certified electrical work — new circuits, sockets, lighting and extraction
- Plastering, tiling and tanking
- Flooring — tile, LVT, engineered timber
- Worktops and splashbacks — laminate, solid surface and stone templated to fit
- Decoration and making good so the room is genuinely finished

Working around your household
Losing a kitchen or the only bathroom is the part people dread. We plan around it: we give you a realistic date for when the room comes out and when it is usable again, we keep a working toilet available wherever the property allows, and we do not start the strip-out until the units, tiles and worktops are on site and checked.
That last point saves more time than anything else. A missing carcase or a damaged worktop discovered on day one is a delay of weeks, not days.

Kitchen & Bathroom Fitting — FAQs
The questions Southampton homeowners ask us most often about this work.
Do you supply the kitchen or bathroom, or do I?
Either. Plenty of clients buy from a national retailer and ask us to fit; others prefer us to source everything so there is one point of responsibility. If you are supplying, we will check the plan and the quantities before you order — retailer plans are frequently a unit short or assume a wall that is not square.
How long does a kitchen fit take?
A straightforward replacement in the same layout is usually a week to two weeks. Moving plumbing, changing the layout, taking down a wall or replastering extends that. Stone worktops add a gap of a week or so because they are templated after the units are in.
Will I be without a bathroom?
If it is the only bathroom, yes, for part of the job — typically a few days between the old suite coming out and the new one being usable. We tell you exactly which days and work to keep the toilet available for as much of the period as the plumbing allows.
Do you carry out the electrical work yourself?
Kitchen and bathroom electrical work is notifiable and is carried out by qualified electricians and certified. You get the paperwork at handover.
Can you fit a wet room?
In most properties, yes. It depends on the floor structure — you need enough depth to form the falls and set the drain in, which is easier on a timber floor than on a ground-floor slab. We will tell you at the survey whether it is realistic before you set your heart on it.
