Who we are

iFit Homes Ltd is a building contractor based in Bitterne Park, Southampton. We build house extensions, convert lofts and garages, renovate and refurbish property, and fit kitchens, bathrooms and joinery across Southampton and the wider Hampshire area.

The company was founded in 2010 by Adrian Royle, after a number of years working for other trade businesses in the area. What started as a small operation has grown steadily, and the way we work has not really changed: one team, one point of contact, and a written quotation you can actually read.

We are deliberately not the largest building company in Southampton. We take on the number of projects we can properly manage at once, because the alternative — spreading a team across more sites than it can cover — is exactly how builders end up not turning up.

How we work

Every project gets a named project manager. That person carries out or attends the site visit, prepares the quotation, sequences the trades, arranges the building control inspections and gives you a weekly update. When you ring, you speak to someone who knows your job.

Quotations are itemised. You see what the groundworks cost, what the steel costs, what the glazing costs. It takes longer to prepare than a single figure on a page, and it means you can adjust the specification to suit your budget instead of being asked to accept or reject the whole thing.

We handle the paperwork side too — permitted development checks, planning applications, building regulations submissions and the inspection schedule. At handover you get the certificates for the notifiable work. Keep them; you will need them when you sell.

What we will tell you honestly

If a loft conversion would give you more usable space than the extension you have in mind, we will say so. If the specification you want costs more than the value it will add to your street, we will say that too. If we are not the right firm for a particular job, we will tell you rather than quote high and hope.
